DIY Autumn Leaves Guestbook Tutorial
Although the traditional guestbook of an actual book, with large blank pages ready to be filled with emotional messages from your closest friends and family is often cherished, it’s not something that could be put on display, or necessarily regularly looked at after the Big Day is over. You might be thinking of an alternative (or even additional) style of guestbook that can be put on display as a reminder of everyone who celebrated with you on your special day. Along the lines of the popular ‘fingerprint’ guestbook, our Autumn Leaves Guestbook, could be what you’re looking for. Especially if you’re marrying at this time of year!
Ask your guests to ‘leaf’ a mark on each of the autumnal leaves on your wedding guestbook tree. It’s very simple to make with just a few materials (mainly card, paper and patience to cut out all the leaves!)
Customise as you wish with the colours of the leaves, whether you freehand draw the tree or choose to trace or print one. And choose the details you want to add at the bottom of your guestbook. We’ve used stamps and an inkpad, but you may prefer the look of a printed message or handwritten.
You will need:
- A thick piece of cardboard for the base of your guestbook
- Thin card/paper in a variety of colours
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Letter stamps and an ink pad
Ask your guests to write their names, initials or a (short) message on each of the leaves and you’ll soon have a tree full of your friends’ and family’s words ready to be put on display.
