If you want to capture the vibes of a carefree, fun and rustic summer at your wedding, we’ve got the fun tutorial for you! Create your very own Summer Camp inspired pennant flags, perfect to add to your reception tables, simply as decor, or even as your table names. Or display them around your “Camp” with different phrases on, from the name of your “Summer Camp” to your new married name.
No sewing or cutting machines required! (Although, of course if you have a Cricut machine – or similar, you can also use that to cut out your letters and shapes)
You will need:
- Paper for templates
- Felt – we used felt sheets that were approx. A4 in size
- Scissors
- Ruler & pencil
- Fabric glue or double sided tape
- A dowel – if you want to add a handle to your flag
- Access to a printer if you want to print out the letters for your template
You can easily freehand the letters you want to add to your flag, however we used an app within Canva.com to create our letter templates (available on the free version) – this enabled us to easily create the shape and size we wanted for each letter for the flag.
We’d love to see what creations you come up with if you give this DIY a go. Tag us in your photos over on Instagram.
