Floral Table Number and Centrepiece in One!
***
Turn a simple block of wood into a beautiful vase, which can double up as both a floral centrepiece and your wedding table numbers!
If you’re keeping your wedding tables fairly minimal but still want to add some pizazz, our test tube vase tutorial might be what you’re looking for. Make as large or as small as desired, and you could even include some holes for taper candles to sit alongside the flowers if you really want to make it your own.
Choose everything from the number and size of test tube vases you use, to the personalisation on the side of the wood, this simple DIY can be adapted to make it perfect for you and your event.
What We Used ✂️ (with product links if you need them!):
- Wood – we used pine softwood cut into 20cm x 6cm blocks
- Test tube vases*
- Pencil & ruler
- Drill and drill bits – we used a 4mm drill bit and a Forstner drill bit (use a forstner drill bit slightly larger than the diameter of your test tubes)
- Sandpaper
- White acrylic paint & paintbrush
Top tip: Support the wood in a vice while drilling the holes to prevent it moving.
Personalise the side of your wooden block with whatever text you choose. We opted for table numbers, but this DIY could be a wonderful, personalised gift for a friend or family member. Hand paint like this example, or if you have a Cricut machine, you could use vinyl to add your message.
