Halloween Wedding Signage

DIY Bar Menu Using Canva and Cricut

***

A Halloween wedding is a vibe, and I am here for it! In fact, I actively encourage it. Your wedding is an opportunity to have a whole lot of fun with your styling, and a Halloween theme gives so much scope to create something your guests won’t forget in a hurry.

Whether you’re incorporating subtle nods to the theme or going all in on the blood and the spooks, Halloween inherently provides fantastic inspiration and a clear direction for the look of your wedding, and even the activities, food and drink!

Couples creating their own signature wedding cocktail is a recent trend that gives the event even more personalisation and adds one of those ‘extra touches’ we’re oh-so-fond of at Bride Society.  Whether you select your favourite go-to cocktail, create your own, or pick one that fits your theme…Which brings me to this week’s inspiration:

The Corpse Reviver! A fitting choice for a Halloween wedding bar menu, right?

The Corpse Reviver Cocktail Recipe

If you’re planning a Halloween wedding or party, here’s how to make this classic-style cocktail:

Ingredients

  • 25ml gin
  • 25ml Cointreau (or another triple sec)
  • 25ml Lillet Blanc
  • 25ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1–2 drops absinthe
  • Ice
  • Lemon twist, to garnish

Method

  1. Chill a coupé or Nick & Nora glass in the freezer for a few minutes.
  2. Add the gin, Cointreau, Lillet Blanc, lemon juice and absinthe to a cocktail shaker.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for around 10–15 seconds.
  4. Double strain into your chilled glass.
  5. Finish with a delicate twist of lemon peel.

What to expect?

A bright, citrusy and refreshing flavour, with a botanical quality from the gin and a subtle aniseed note from the absinthe. The Lillet Blanc gives it a gentle floral sweetness.

A little cocktail trivia: The name comes from the old-fashioned idea that this cocktail was so good at reviving you after a heavy night that it could bring you back from the dead!

Whether you’re planning a Halloween wedding or a spooky get-together at home, this cocktail will fit right in!  If it’s not your taste, maybe find one that’s served with a blood-red cherry or an eyeball lychee!

Creating Your Halloween Wedding Bar Menu Sign with Canva and Cricut

Full disclosure: I haven’t actually tried this particular cocktail (we have ChatGPT to thank for the recipe inspiration!), but with a name like The Corpse Reviver, it was too good to pass up for this Halloween bar menu sign.

Signage is the perfect way to incorporate a Halloween theme, whether you’re taking that nod approach or going full spook.

In this tutorial, I’m showing you how I created my Halloween signature cocktail sign inside Canva (an easy-to-use online design platform with endless options and great capabilities), making it compatible for cutting with Cricut, all the way through to the finished glow-in-the-dark product!

Along the way, I’ll share plenty of tips to help you get your design from Canva into Cricut Design Space as seamlessly as possible…let’s leave the frights for Halloween!

If you’re a Canva novice and/or a Cricut newbie, fear not. This is a great project to get you started, and it works with all Cricut machines.

If you’re a bit of a Cricut pro at this point and have been wondering if Canva could open up even more creative possibilities, let me be the first to assure you, it can, and here’s how…!
